Enough is enough,The gambia people have reached the limits of their patience
with the dictatorship of the APRC Government.
The April 10th massacre and the recent adductions of Modou [Dumo]and others
has raised the consciousness of the gambian people all over the world, and
has brought about the unification of all peace loving, human rights
organizations and the democratic forces.gambians throughout the globe today
have decided to advance democracy, safeguard basic human rights,to uphold
social justice,to develop a private enterprise economy and end terrorism.
Men are born with certain fundamental and undeniable rights;the rights to
life and development,to human dignity and security. These rights are the
basis of civilized, modern society and the principles of democratic politics.
All members of the society are equal and are entitled to equal
opportunity, regardless of their political affiliation, race, sex and
profession.Healthy and stable social development is impossible without the
elimination of privileges and the maintenance of justice.
The deprivation of individual property rights in the name of the state is an
important cause of the economic stagnation and political tyranny found in
the country ruled by the APRC party.Returning social wealth to the people
are the developing private enterprise and sole path of solving Gambians
economic problems and to achieving its modernization.to end dictatorship and
institute democracy,it is necessary to safeguard the citizens basic
rights-freedom of speech,press,assembly and association.The 22nd july
terrorist group under the leadership/command of a well trained Libya
terrorist Baba Jobe must be controlled only by the state. The judiciary must
be independent.Schooling should be freed from ideological control by the
dictatorship so that academic and educational autonomy is assured.
Adhering to the principles of peace, rationality and nonviolence i strongly
denounce the terrorist practice employed by the totalitarian regime against
the people.
Since July 1994 democracy has yet to be restored and allowed to operate
fully in The Gambia. The high sounding phrases of transparency, accountability
and democracy have remained hollow as autocratic rule continued with
soldiers in civilian dress. To dress such a regime in the borrowed robes of
democracy constitute a great disservice to The Gambian people.
Long live a free and democratic Gambia!

SAihou
