I am sure you are correct.

Diverting off topic, what you say has interesting implications for the type
of exercises we might do for our minds, in line with our evolutionary
history, and to complement the work we do with our bodies.

Do you know if anyone has done any work on this?  I know there are books
called Mind Gym etc., but it seems to me that chess, crossword puzzles and
other modern mental exercises might be quite different from the sort of
mental exercises we, on this group, might find closest to our evolutionary
heritage.
