I am happily applying paleo principles and am very grateful to have grabbed onto something that has very positively addressed health issues that have bothered me for a long time. It's backed by scientific research, not wishful thinking, and it's relatively uncomplicated.

However, I occasionally ask devil's advocate questions because there is a "paleo industry" that has developed, with all sorts of folks promoting their pet ideas about how to apply paleo principles, and that's where I become just a bit skeptical.

How do people know for sure that 99% of our ancestors ate salad and meat, usually raw? Have 99% of paleolithic living sites been excavatedd? Has someone discovered a way to figure out from human, animal, and plant remains precisely what each inhabitant of each site ate on a daily basis? I think not.

I also think that, from the perspective of the twenty-first century, looking back at Paleolithic times through the lens of thousands of years of historical and cultural changes, there is no way we can ever know for sure what our ancestors **really** did.

Change and uncertainty are the human condition. 99% of our ancestors ate
salad and meat, as it became available, usually raw. We now know about
bioflavinoids, essentail fatty acids, minimum RDA, and so much more. Listen
to your body. It will guide you. Just don't get suckered by sugar, white
flour, and alchohol. They are the comfort foods of our society.

And remember to exercise. Even if it is only a walk around the block.
Stretching is also very beneficial.

You are in charge of you. You control your focus. You have enormous power
to transform your life. What have you got to lose?

Keep the faith and keep up the good work.
