The US General Accounting Office (GAO www.gao.gov) today released the
following report:

Health Products for Seniors: "Anti Aging" Products Pose Potential for
Physical and Economic Harm. GAO-01-1129, September 7.
http://www.gao.gov/cgi-bin/getrpt?gao-01-1129

The report is comprehensive and contains three excellent appendixes:

App #2 tabulates products, principal claims for the product, known adverse
effects, known contraindications and interactions.

App #4 lists recent FDA actions for health products determined to be making
illegal claims. This appendix names companies.

App #5 lists FTC cases of illegal advertising for products targeted to
senior citizens. Again, companies are named.

Whatever you think of the report, after reading it you will end up
despairing for the gullibility of your fellow citizens and thinking far
more highly of evolutionary fitness!

Keith
