I slept about like I do at home. I know nothing about the sleep study
itself and won't till their report is concluded after 10 to 14 days and
mailed to my doctor. I will be surprised, now, if they think I have sleep
apnea because they did not come in during the night to put the oxygen mask
over my nose like they thought they would. It is sort of weird, however,
trying to go to sleep when you know the room is wired, because they not only
can hear every single noise you make, and you can use your imagination on
that one, and furthermore, it is an odd feeling to know that your mouth,
eyes, lips, chin, forehead, your brain patterns, heart, chest, stomach, and
even your legs movement is all being monitored by a computer called the
Beast. I'm kidding about the name of the computer, of course. In short, it
does everything but tell them what your dreams might be. You are also video
taped the entire time. I think I'll get a copy to show during family get
togethers. It took the lady 45 minutes, as I sat in my underwear in a
chair, to tape and glue all these wires and probes and belts up to my near
naked body. Then I had to sleep on my back at first, which I cannot do, and
after about an hour, I could sleep however I wished. Sure. Go right ahead
and try and roll around about like you do at home with all these plastic
wires dragging around as you move. I was tempted to die on them just to
play a joke but I didn't figure they would think it was funny. It seemed
funny at the time to me but instead, I lived. I lay on my back in the
silence of the room, once she left, and recalled the verse Stanley shared.
I realized I wasn't afraid, however, because I was safe as it was. So I
focused on the first part of the verse and finally went to sleep. I
awakened at 3 o'clock, about like I normally do, and then slept off and on
until 6 o'clock when she came in and ripped off hair and skin as she removed
all the wires and probes from my near naked body and near naked scull. If
you aren't awake before then, once they begin ripping that stuff off your
body, you are then. It could have been worse, I suppose but I lived anyway.
By the way, I gave up water all afternoon and evening so I wouldn't have to
get up during the night to go to the bathroom. Aren't you proud of me?

Phil.
