Hi, all. Sorry for the cross post. Just thought I'd fill you in on the
latest with Mom.

She doesn't have a fever, but is wheezing really bad, and has to have
breathing treatments every four hours. My sister-in-law said she looked
really tired today. I imagine she would be tired if they're waking her up
every four hours! <grin> On the bright side, my brother and sister-in-law
found a place for her. The place we'd hoped to get because it's close to
all of us got filled already, but the caseworker took my sister-in-law to
see it anyway, and she didn't like it at all. It smelled of urine and was
very run-down. The place they finally found is very near my brother and
sister-in-law, though quite a ways from us. It's apparently very beautiful
and very secure. It's owned by a nurse, and she has a couple living there
and caring for the six people, all with dementia, who live there. I don't
know when I'll get to see it, but I'm hoping it'll be this weekend
sometime. We don't know when Mom will be released from the hospital, but
the nurse-owner came to visit her and meet her, and brought her some
flowers and asked her if she had a green thumb and if she'd like to help
her with her garden. Mom was apparently really excited.

I talked to my aunt tonight, and she sounded pretty lonely, now that Mom's
not there. But her daughter-in-law is flying down tomorrow and will stay
for the weekend and help her with the transition. It looks like she'll be
staying in the apartment, which I think will be best, since she knows
everyone in the complex and can walk to the store. So things are moving
along. Now we just have to pray that Mom will be well enough soon to move
into the new place.

Peggy
