Multimedia is a powerful communication tool for both presenting information
and to include emotive punch to drive the message home, and every new
computer comes equipped to play it. Teachers are increasingly wanting to
utilize it in online courses or as assignments for classroom
courses. Multimedia can shut out students who are deaf. Video with little
accompanying supportive audio may leave students who are blind in the
dark. What to do?

EASI's August 5 course on Accessible Multimedia will not only explain how
to make online media fully accessible, it will provide online
demonstrations and also walk the participants through the process of
creating their own accessible materials.

Syllabus and registration if available at http://easi.cc/workshop.htm

Some knowledge of HTML or experience in using a web authoring tool is
extremely helpful background. Media can be played and streamed best by
users with broadband connections although this is not a requirement.
EASI has found that multimedia clips showing demonstrations of what we are
explaining is frequently much more effective than merely text
descriptions. Being able to let a remote user still watch you as you do a
task can be the best learning tool. Used well multimedia is a powerful and
also an appealing addition to learning.
