We see on a nearby page at
        http://ps.ucdavis.edu/
the following:

The Sun Technology and Research Excellence Center
The Davis SunTREC is one of only eight in the world and is much larger in
endowment and scope than the more numerous SunSITES previously created by
Sun and participating universities. The particular purpose of the Davis
SunTREC is to explore and develop applications of high powered and high
capacity networking to problem solving by government institutions at all
levels. The Davis SunTREC is housed in the Social Sciences building on the
Davis campus.

The Joint Center for International and Security Studies
JCISS is co-directed by Professors Jan Breemer at The Naval Postgraduate
School and Emily Goldman at UC Davis, the Center was created in 1994 to
foster a fundamental rethinking of the conceptual and ethical premises that
have undergirded U.S. strategy and foreign policy for the past half
century. This unique collaboration between a civilian university and a
military institution was designed to promote understanding between the
defense and civilian communities, and to bring together members of both
communities to generate new perspectives on critical security issues.

How nice! Thanks F. We are all smart shoppers now.
