First of all, a corporation is merely a legal construct. Perhaps its
development is a logical consequence of prior economic events, perhaps not.
The development of demand must be viewed in tandem with the "sciences" of
marketing, advertising & such. These fileds receive billions of $$$ each
year to find or manufacture demand.
