Hi,

I am a celiac and a neighbor's 6 yo daughter is suspected of having celiac
disease and is scheduled for an endoscopy at the end of this month. My
neighbor called today frantic for help as the girl is running a fever of
102 degrees, vomiting, has very bad cramps, exhaustion, and severe shooting
or pinching pain around and just above her naval. She said her doctor says
nothing is wrong and refused to see her. I suggested she take her to the
emergency room as it sounded to me like a bout that I had some time back
that was pancreatitis. But in the meantime, and in the case that the
emergency room does nothing, is there anybody here who knows what the
mother could do to make the girl more comfortable until she can find help?
My bout was 35 years ago and I am sure things are different now as to
treatments, if that is, indeed, even what is wrong. Has anybody here had
experience with this and what did you do for it? My neighbor's email addy
is: [log in to unmask] You may reply directly to her or to me and I will
redirect (but it would be quicker for her to send directly).

Thankyou very much for your help.

Diane
