Hi Listies!

For anyone driving from Santa Barbara to LA on the 101 freeway, be sure to
eat lunch or dinner at La Bella Roma. It is an Italian restaurant at 300 N.
Lantana Suite 35, Camarillo CA  93010 tel.:  805-445-6534 or fax:
805-445-8124.  In Camarillo take the Las Posas exit, go north and turn right
(east) on Daily Drive.  Go about a mile and turn left on Lantana.  The
restaurant is tucked away in a corner of the shopping center on the right.

Camarillo is equidistant from LA and Santa Barbara;  about 45 minutes either
way, in good traffic.

We ate there last weekend and our waiter, hostess (engaged to the owner {...
an Italian, she told us, who himself cannot tolerate wheat}) and the chef
all came to us at different times to discuss our dietary questions.  We were
seeking info. for our DH son.

WOW!  When I told the chef that our son could not eat anything with wheat he
said right away, "Do you mean gluten?  What about milk?"  He is on the ball
and so aware of celiac needs.  He is VERY willing to create a meal that
suits your dietary needs.  Appetizers run from $6 - $10  and meals in the
$10 - $20 range.  Their olive spread is wonderful.  Feel free to bring your
own crackers along.  He will gladly cook your pasta although he does have
risotto.

And the food was wonderful, beautifully presented, just a great evening!
