Thank you for all the replies I received.

I guess it comes down to a personal opinion and decision. Some people
suggested to wait with the introduction of gluten until he is at least 2
years old while others asked why I would want to keep him away from all
the fun foods to begin with when he might be perfectly fine. Others said
to wait until he's 6 or 7, because it may damage the brain. And again
some others suggested to keep the whole family GF for life.

Once I introduce gluten, he should be closely watched and his growth
should be documented, to see if there are any changes.

2 or 3 suggested to have a genetic stool sample test done. I need to
research that a little further. I just saw that those tests are
expensive.

I'm not sure what I will do. I need to have a talk with the
pediatrician, who is already aware of the issue. But so far we haven't
talked about a strategy yet. Since Alex is home with me all day he'll
probably be GF for the most part anyway.
