Hi Lisa, it's Jane (Conrad) replying about the iron problem. Yes it
is true that iron is very constipating, from all the articles I read
and from my Doctor, who is always surprised when I tell him it does
the complete opposite to me, I've been taking 300 mgs of iron a day
since Jan.95 and I've only had about 1 or 2 days when I haven't had
diarrhea either with gluten or after being gluten free for 2 months.
(I've tried the gluconate and the sulphate forms of iron)
The non-celiacs I speak with say if they take iron there constipated
for days!!! I might also add that I am very healthy otherwise, I
exercise, and workout with weights, and eat all fresh vegetables and
low fat foods. I'm doing everything right, and I can't figure out why
I still have the stomach problems.???
