Thank you so much for the information regarding pie crusts.
Here is a summary of all the replies I received.  I will attempt it make
another apple pie very soon.

1.  Use Betty Hagman's bean flour and bake from scratch.

2.  From Betty Hagman's first book use recipe named Donna Jo's Dream Pastry.

3.  Most said to use the palm of your hands and pat the dough in the pie
plate rather than rolling it out and use a crumb topping.

4.  Several said to refrigerate the dough longer than an hour.

5.  At least four sent their own personal recipes for  pie crusts.

6.  Two suggested the mix from CauseYoureSpecial.Com saying it was very good.

7.  Lastly a couple of people suggested Kinnikinick Pastry Mix and to roll
the dough on parchment paper.
