Hello,
I have still not had a formal celiac diagnosis, however today they
ran an Upper Gastrointestinal scan and a Small Bowel Function Test. This
is the test where you drink alot of Barium and they take x-rays at timed
intervals until it has passed through the system.
My question: does anyone know the 'normal' time for this test? I
was finished in an hour and a half! Half an hour after that I had (and
still have) pretty bad diarrhea. Does anybody know if these ressults are
consonant with CD, or even something else that you know of?
It could also be that eveything was compicated by the fact that I
seem to have accidentally been eating hidden glutens last week. I ran a
low-grade fever all weekend, and Sat. and Sun. I had quite painful
abdominal cramps. Anything that anybody knows on the subject would be
better than where I'm at.
Lastly, if one has diarrhea that is gluten-ingestion linked, is it
better to go on fluids until it passes (as if one had intestinal upset
linked to the flu) or should one continue to eat normally (gf)?

Thanks in advance, of course, I'll sumarise.
