<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>>

All,

First I would like to extend a truly heartfelt 'Tank you!' for all the
replies I recieved to my query. My sister has a 3 PM appointment with Ralph
Giannella tomorrow. (No, your eyes are not deceiving you -- she was able to
get an appointment for Tuesday September 3rd!!) We are very hopeful about
how things will progress for her now. And it is thanks to the help of
everyone who replied -- even if you didn't recommend Dr. Giannella. You
extended your help and support and that is what has made the difference in
this situation.

One person did send me the link to a list of doctors on celiac.com:
http://www.celiac.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_main.html?p_catid=22 (You may
have to copy and paste this into your address
window to get it.)

And another person recommended getting tests on her own: "Why doesn't your
sister go to www.enerolab.com and get the stool test done? She will get an
answer in 7-10 days, and she can then go gluten free if she finally knows
she is producing antibodies. More information at: www.finerhealth.com"

Now, onto the summary of GI docs. I got recommendations for Drs. in
multiple cities. I'll send a separate email for each city. This message
includes the doctors recommended in Cincinnati, OH. First I'll list the
doctors, contact info, and the number of recommendations received for that
doctor. Below that I'll include excerpts of the actual messages I received.

I live in Dayton, OH - about 45 minutes away from Cincinnati, and I go
to a doctor in Cincinnati. His name is Dr. Ralph Gianella, and he is at
University hospital - he is the head of the dept. and he is AWESOME> His
phone number is (513) 475-7505 He is very thorough - I highly recommend him.
          ___________ ___________ ____________

My gastro. is DR. Ralph Giannella located Clifton, just north of downtown
Cincinnati.
He is probably the most knowledgeable doctor regarding celiac in the city.
He has also visited our local celiac support group to help us learn exactly
what is happening to our bodies and what we need to do to make it better.
          ___________ ___________ ____________

I would like to recommend Dr. Ralph Giannella. He teaches at the Un.
Hospital so he has
limited office hours, but I am sure she could get in soon. I was able to
get an appointment rather quickly. Dr. Giannella has spoken our support
group and has also invited our support group to hear a doctor speak to one
of his classes about celiac disease.

Also, to give you some additional information, we have a Cincinnati Celiac
Support which meets at Children's Hospital. We also have a web page and you
can get to it by clicking on
www.geocities.com/cinci_celiac
          ___________ ___________ ____________

In Cincinnati, University Hospital has at least 2 good Doctors.
Ralph Giannella has been used by many Celiac patients here in
Cincinnati and also from Dayton. Our youngest daughter, 34, has
been tested and we are awaiting results; she saw Dr. Giannella.
A 2nd Doctor is Steven Martin, in the same group, he is the best
around for endoscopic surgery but Giannella may be better at
Celiac Disease. Either would work fine however, we actually
saw Dr. Martin. They are both in a physicians office building
near University Hospital. the secretary is Bobby, she is really great and
can set up
        an appointment.
          ___________ ___________ ____________

I was diagnosised with Celiac Disease after being VERY sick for several
years
and seeing doctors in the Cincinnati and Atlanta, Ga. areas. I was
diagnosised by Gail Bongiovanni, M. D. at the Greater Cincinnati Digestive
Health Network. She has several office locations. I went to the Christ
Hospital office. The number is 513-721-5300. Good Luck to you and your
sister. Feeling great these days.Linda
