All,

I'm a little stunned that somebody said the original poster didn't really
have celiac if she didn't have severe symptoms after ingesting gluten. From
what I've read, symptoms run the gamut. I had NO stomach or bowel problems
before I was diagnosed (which included a biopsy that confirmed everything and
a followup test that eliminated other possibilities). I most definitely DO
have celiac.

Since diagnosis I have either been incredibly good or lucky and have not
ingested any gluten at all, even by mistake, or I simply don't react severely
enough to warn me that I made a boo-boo. Personally, I suspect the second is
the most likely explanation.

Cheers,
Richard (Va., USA)
