Thank you for your replies. Below is a summary of what I learned from all of you. If you would like more information, please email me and I can forward the individual emails I have received.

Food Journals

It¢s very important to have a food journal. In the journal you should list the date, time, what foods you ate and what symptoms you had. Also keep track of how you were feeling at the time and other physical ailments you may have.
Some people have found that doing different types of diets helps them figure out what they are sensitive to. These include rotation diets, elimination diets and diets for your body type. Most of these diets start out with the foods that one knows does not bother them and then gradually introduces different foods to determine which one is the problem food. (See the websites below for help on this.)

Medical professionals/tests that can help

· Some of the posts mentioned different tests to help tease out food sensitivity. Some of these tests depend on how much of the offending food you have eaten to show a positive sensitivity. These include: IgG Antibody tests, Stool tests, ALCAT food trigger test, endoscopy and colonoscopy. Each of these should be discussed with your practitioner to determine what is appropriate for you.
· One post mentioned testing for bacterial or yeast overgrowth and also pancreatic and stomach inefficiency.
· Many people mentioned that they went outside of their Primary Care Provider to get help. They went to chiropractors, Integrative Medicine Physicians, Allergists and Homeopathic practitioners.

Common Sensitivities

· Many people mentioned that by cutting back on certain foods, they reduced or eliminated their sensitivities. These products were soy, yeast, corn, rice, dairy products, sugar and alcohol. Be cautious of eating too many gluten free products with refined sugar or flour.
· Some posts mentioned that reducing caffeine intake helped them. They also mentioned adding fiber, calcium and magnesium to their diets.
· One simple thing that can help is making sure that your food is clean before you eat it. For example, wash your fruits and vegetables before you eat them. Ensure that you eat fresh fish and meat and try to eliminate processed foods in your diet.

Be Aware!

Ask manufacturers what is in their food and what other products they produce on the same machine as what you are eating. You will be surprised to find contamination in your foods in ways you never expected.
In your food journal, be sure to write down what brand of food you are eating and keep track of which brands bother you and which do not. You must be a good detective.
When ordering out, don¢t be afraid to ask questions and be persistent with the management and wait staff of the establishment.
One area people do not think about is medicines and beauty products. Check these products for things that you might be sensitive to. This includes shampoo, toothpaste and similar products.
