I read Jessie's first post very carefully. And Jessie has still not provided
any scientific evidence to substantiate her claim that oat grains "do not
contain gluten" or her claim that "the grains of oats are safe".

I provided evidence of scientific studies which indicate that avenins (oat
prolamins) show cross reactivity with gliadins (wheat prolamins) and with
the blood antibodies of celiacs. I also provided evidence of studies which
indicate that oats taken in larger amounts over longer periods of time may
be toxic to celiacs. There are also current studies which cast doubt on
these, but until there are long-term large-scale studies involving larger
amounts of pure oats, the matter will not be resolved.

Repeating a mantra that oat grains "do not contain gluten" will not make it
so.
