Cynthia Kupper, RD, is pleased to be working with the Gluten Intolerance
Education Organization, LLC (GIEO), in launching Gluten Intolerance Educator
Certificate Examination program. This program provides a means to qualify
health care professionals with expertise knowledge in aspects of gluten
intolerances, including pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment. The
certification of health care professionals through the use of standardized testing
is useful in identifying credible health care professionals, especially as
it relates to education, education programs, and possible increased
insurance reimbursement.

GIEO provides a means to meet a growing need for identifying qualified
experts in the area of gluten intolerances management and education. Health
care professionals who wish to demonstrate advanced knowledge in the diagnosis
and management of persons with celiac disease, dermatitis herpetiformis,
and other forms of gluten intolerances are encouraged to take the exam.

As a testing program, the Gluten Intolerance Education Organization (GIEO)
does not base testing questions on a single education format or training
program, but rather a variety of scientific resources. All currently licensed
health care professionals, as recognized by a state or national Licensure
and/or registration program are eligible to take the exam. Dietitians,
nurses and other allied health professionals who provide instruction and
education to gluten intolerant consumers are encouraged to consider becoming a
Certified Gluten Intolerance Educator.

GIEO will launch testing in September/October.

Gluten Intolerance Group of North America
