Hello.
My name is Tracy & I am 24 years of age. I started getting symptoms of
gluten intolerance at 21.

I have always been relativley thin. I went to the USA for four months
before which I dieted strictly and lost a lot of weight. When I arrived in
the USA, I put on 13kilos.

I returned home and lost about 11 kilos over 6 weeks.

Due to this sudden loss of weight I started to feel tired all the time and
my hair started falling out in chunks.

I went to every doctor I could find to see why my hair was falling out.I
have always had very long and thick hair,so you can imagine how upset I
was.No one could help me.

I eventually found a reflexologist who looked at my feet and told me I was
totally malnourished and that I was gluten intolerant. In my state I went
off all wheat and found that my hair (which had become very limp) started
to thicken again and stopped falling out.

I also had "psoriasis" of my scalp before - a yellow tinge on my scalp
which gets very itchy (and if not washed every day can flake - similar to
dry scalp).

Well once off wheat all these symptoms got better.

I have however found that when I lapse and eat gluten, my hair smptoms
reccur. I have now tried to make eating no gluten a way of life.

I was very happy to find this discussion group on the internet.
I would like to get all the info I can about gluten intolerance and what I
can and cannot eat.

I have not had a biopsy but I am sure what I have is in fact gluten
intolerance.

I would like to know if anyone else has had similar symptoms, and if cream
liquers contain gluten.

I am able to eat rye bread without a problem - is this healthy.

Regards
Tracy
