Sorry for the delay. I received some very thoughtful responses (and
some who thought my request was "just too obvious" and "gave me the
benefit of the doubt" (!!) - these were thoughtfully "thanked" and then
filed away).

The ice cream of choice is without question Dreyer's Ice Cream, or Edy's
Ice Cream, as it is known in the East. All of their ice cream is gluten
free, except for the obvious ones - Brownie Chunk, Cookies & Cream, etc.
 They even have a web-site http://www.edys.com/freezer/taste.html. You
can enter your flavor choices, specify "gluten-free", and it will list
all of the the safe products. I tried it - it was awesome! As one list
member put it, "Any manufacturer providing this type of service to the
Celiac community deserves my patronage!"

Sorry to say, but Breyers-Good Humor says they have done no gluten
testing (and have no intention of doing so) and cannot therefore say
their products are safe to eat!!! While they say their vanilla is corn
based, I have become a little hesitant to purchase the product. Info
came from a letter from the manufacturer supplied to me by a list
member.

Most of Baskin Robbins flavors, it turns out, are also GF, as is their
hot fudge!! They will also supply a list if requested. Some other
sources are as follows:

Hagen Daas
Dole fruit juice bars
Blue Bell Ice Creams (Arkansas)
McDonald ice creams are GF world wide

Turkey Hill was also recommended - one of the nicest companies the list
member has talked to in a while. Their number is 1-800-MY-DAIRY. They a
long list with detailed information...coupons, too!!

Hope this helps others with my questions. Thanks again!
