Elaine Monarch, Executive Director of the Celiac Disease Foundation [phone
818-990-2354, email [log in to unmask]] asked me to post the following for
her, in response to this week's announcement of a spring meeting on CD to
be held at the National Institutes of Health near Washington DC:

E> "I have been involved with the NIH in getting the March meeting on Celiac
E> Disease initiated. My contact at the NIH was not pleased that a notice of
E> the meeting had been prematurely posted to our List. Nothing is official
E> yet and it is likely to be a small informal meeting. Until the NIH formally
E> notices the meeting (including the size of the room), we all need to
E> understand that it would not necessarily benefit our cause to have huge
E> numbers of the general celiac community try to attend."

I'd like to suggest that no one further publicize the meeting until
additional information is released by the NIH.
