I understand there is research being done between the link in Juvenile
Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA) and Celiac. Can you please help me locate this?

I was diagnosed with JRA at the age of 11 ( 20 years ago) I was told I would
be crippled by age 18. As a child I also suffered with numerous food
allergies ( wheat, milk, eggs, chicken, chocolate, dust, pollens, etc, etc,
etc,) As an adult I have continued to be plagued with arthritic symptoms (
swelling of the hands, aches, pains, stiffness) without the signs of joint
calcifications or deformities. About 18 months ago I started on a high
protein, low carbohydrate diet...and immediately saw a drastic improvement in
my symptoms ( higher energy, less joint pain, fevers diminished, clearer
thinking) . I had unknowningly started a diet fit for a Celiac. After seven
weeks, I consumed some wheat and immediately could not walk. It was my first
clear sign that wheat was truly an issue.

I have predominantely maintained a gluten free diet for the past year or
so...and recently started to consume wheat again with disasterous
consequences. (major edema, pain, numbness in legs)

If I am having that severe of a reaction to wheat in such a short period of
time....would the blood tests that are available be of value to me at this
time since I have maintained a gluten free diet for over a year?
