Hi , back again, not trying to hog the email, just found another
response. This time from CSR Sugar.

Cheers Tracy

Dear Tracy,

Thank you for contacting Sugar Australia about your concern.

We understand that a person with Coeliac Disease is very sensitive to
foods that contain wheat starch or gluten. In general, no pure sugar
products contain these ingredients, that is, those that are 100% natural
and are refined directly from sugar cane.

Most CSR products fit the above description, for example, CSR Golden
Syrup is made from natural ingredients and is gluten free. Ingredients
include glucose, fructose and sucrose (natural cane and reducing sugars),
water and organic materials.

However there are a few products that are not suitable to the diet of a
person with Coeliac disease. Namely, we do not recommend that you use
the new CSR Flavoured Icing Mixtures as they do contain small traces of
wheat starch.

CSR Soft Icing Mixture contains wheaten corn starch, which is an
unmodified food grade starch produced from the milling and separation of
wheat and flour, giving it a maximum gluten content of 0.00085%, while
Pure Icing Sugar, which as the name suggests, is a pure sugar, contains
no gluten.

I hope this information is useful, if you have any further queries please
to contact us again or the Coeliac Society on (02) 9411 4100.

Regards,
Seton Leung
