In regards to my post about ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) fasiculations
(twitching) and a relationship with high tTG titers.

5 said they had family with CD had family memebers with ALS.

1 person said they have always had twitching in theie calf and did not
seemed concerened.

1 person suspected and is being tested for mitochondrial myopathy, which
can cause twitching.

1 said it was from gluten intake.

1 had a very interesting story I think we should all pay attention to.
His twitching was lack of vitiman D... a fat soluble vitamin. You can
run low on it and still have normal calcium levels. There is more to
this story & I will post it later. I believe this is my problem. I will
be tested soon. I also read a recent article about Crohns/IBD in that
if you are lacking vitamin D, it will play havoc on you intestinal track
and make the situation much worse and begin a cycle that can't be
stopped until vit D is replaced. I'm not sure how this would play into
CD, but it seems to me if vitiman D is essential for a healthy bowel,
then it should be looked into. Keep in mind that too much vitiman D and
caclium can be deadly. Testing vit D is expensive and not done very
often. Tell your doctor if you think you are low and never let a doctor
intimidate you out of a test. It's your body. Here is the web page that
talked about Crohns/IBD (that some celiacs also have) and the
relationship to Vitamin D

Health and happiness to all
