I have communicated to many of you regarding my now 20 month old son who was
diagnosed with celiac disease in March.I apologize if my questions have been
addressed previously, but I only have read the topics that pertained to my
son. Now my concerns are different.(I could not get into the archives.)
While visiting a specialist in May, our immediate family was given the
tissue tranglutamanase antibody test. They were especially concerned with my
husband who comes from a long line of autoimmune disease within his family.
Last week, to everyone's surprise my test was the one that was positive.
Today I received my IGa endomysial antibody results that were a positive
93.Of course everyone is on vacation and can't answer my questions. Is the
tTG only a marker, and along with the endomysial test, does this mean I have
celiac disease right now? I thought I was asymptomatic, but basically our
entire household has been gluten free for five months. I have noticed though
sometimes I fell motion sickness or am extremely drop dead tired after
eating some wheat, but other than that I have no gastrintestinal problems.
I'm aware that a biopsy is the only sure fire way of knowing, but I would
hate to have to start eating gluten when we have been gluten free for most
of the time. There's no time to feel drop dead tired with a 2 and 4 year old
to chase around. Thank you .
