GLUTEN FREE FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAMT (GFFAP) Sponsored by the PBC Celiac
Support Group, a Chapter of the Celiac Disease Foundation


Palm Beach - January 5, 2008 - In a continuing effort to reach out to our
ever growing South Florida community, we have established an assistance
program to help individuals with Celiac Disease and/or Dermatitis
Herpetiformis who are living at or below the poverty level.


Acceptance in this program will allow individuals, who qualify, to receive a
credit voucher of $25 per month to be used for the purchase of gluten free
foods at any of the following stores: (one store will be assigned to each
recipient for gluten free food shopping)

Proof of income and/or proof of participation in other Public Assistance
Programs (Food Stamps, Federal Public Housing Assistance, Medicaid, etc) is
required. Acceptance in the program will be determined by the PBC Celiac
Support Group Board of Directors.  All information will remain confidential.
Acceptance in this program will be reviewed annually. 

 

During the pilot year (2009) a maximum of 30 people/families will be
accepted to participate. The goal of the Gluten Free Food Assistance
ProgramT (GFFAP) is to double the participants in 2010.
