I had asked several weeks ago if anyone had any GF dining suggestions in/around Newport, RI and my post yielded minimal results. A few posters wanted the same information, but there was not much information out there. I contacted many chefs via email before arriving, but sadly only two responded and several places kept telling me to "call back." So, I just scratched those off my list since the didn't seem interested in trying to be accommodating o the phone... I can just imagine how they may be in person.

I tried to remember some of the places we dined during our visit to/around Newport, RI and this is the best I could recall:

Mudville Pub - Newport (not accommodating)
Brick Alley Pub - Newport (accommodating)
Newport Dinner Train - Newport (accomodating)
Yesterdays - Newport (accommodating, but only slightly)
  The Landing - Newport (accomodating)
  Ben & Jerry's - Newport (accommodating)
  Melville Grille - Portsmouth (acommodating)
  Chili's - Newport (accommodating)
Red Parrot - Newport (didn't go there, but didn't appear to be very accommodating)
Christmas Tree Shoppe - Newport (GF pasta, GF crackers)
Super Stop & Shop - Newport (fair selection of GF cereal, snacks, pastas, etc.)
Taco Bell - Newport (just rice... boring!)
  McDonald's - Newport (accommodating)
  Burger King - Newport (accommodating)
The Newport Creamery - Newport (accommodating... only had dessert there.. didn't eat a meal there)
Wendy's - Providence, RI (near the kids museum) had vanilla frosties... they don't have those near my house.....
The "O" Club - Newport (accommodating)
McDonald's - Westerly (near Water Whizz) - (accommodating)
There appeared to be healthfood store right by the International Tennis Hall of Fame (Newport) , but I got distracted by the regular shops and forgot to go in the food store.
Bretton State Park - Newport (the few food vendors did have some GF options & candy available)
The Mansions - we toured them, but did not do any food related events

I found one new intersting item in the Super Stop & Shop. It was a refrigerated meat item by Hormel and it was a Roast Beef or Beef Roast package that you just heat & serve. It was clearly marked GlutenFree right on the package. I have also not seen that particular product in Northern Virginia.

I did get tired of seeing so many Dunkin' Doughnut establishments. :)

Believe it or not, I am off again for another trip... this time, heading south.
