Elizabeth Shane, M.D., Endocrinologist at the Metabolic Bone Disease
Program of Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, New York City, spoke to
the Greater New York Celiac Support Group on October 9th. Her topic was
"Osteoporosis and Osteomalacia in Patients with Celiac Disease."

Dr. Shane, who sees many patients with Celiac Disease, presented
excellent information on the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis
and osteomalacia, with emphasis on its connection to Celiac Disease.

A six-page summary of Dr. Green's speech, prepared by Sue Goldstein, is
now available as a Listserve file.
