Sometime ago I read raves on this list serve about Manna from Anna. Today I
read another post raving about Manna from Anna. My six year old daughter is
the celiac in our family and I was hoping I had finally found a bread she
would eat. So I went to the local health food store and paid almost $8.00
for one bag of mix. I followed the directions exactly, and yes I used a
troothpick to test for doneness. My mother was an excellant baker who was
known for the delicious breads she baked si I know a good bread when I eat
it. For you skeptics I am an experienced baker who in my pre-motherhood days
used to do all the birthday cakes for friends and family. The Manna from
Anna bread was the densest, heaviest bread I have come across yet. It was
so dense that when I tried to use it for bread pudding the milk and eggs
weren't absorbed. Is this bread always this dense and heavy? I can't
believe anyone would rave about that stuff. Did I just get a bad bag or
have bad luck with my first attempt? At the price Manna from Anna sells for
I'm not willing to have very many "bad" batches. Am I the only one who was
disappointed with this product? Thanks for any input.
