Hi Listmates,
Here is the summary of responses I received regarding my post about Hershey Park:

Hershey Park - The Boardwalk Fries are ok, and so is the ice
cream.......they have two Ben & Jerry stands and one Greens.......The
popcorn is also gf......and the cotton candy and italian ice is
fine........I'm not sure of the places that make hamburgers and hot dogs
because my celiac daughter is a vegetarian so I never inquired about
that........there is also a chinese restaurant there, but not sure if
they offer anything.....

------------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven't been to Hershey Park this season, but they probably have mainly
the same food vendors as they did last year. In addition to Boardwalk Fries
(which are gf), there's a place near the entrance that serves kettle corn.
If she's not there on Saturday, the Kosher place (also near the entrance)
sells hot dogs, which should be gf without the bun. There's also a Ben and
Jerry's ice cream stand, where she could get a cup of New York Super Fudge
Chunk or her favorite gf flavor (those without cookie bits, etc.). I'm sure
there are other gf options as well that I'm forgetting about. I haven't had
trouble bringing my own food, although they've been searching bags for
security reasons, so she could bring a small soft-sided cooler with more
substantial food if she wishes.

In the outlet mall next door, there's an Italian place that sells Boar's
Head cold cuts, which she could buy by weight instead of as a sandwich.

If you call the company and ask about it they will send you coupons--$1 off so it might be worth the phone call :)
(I have yet to call Hershey, but will summarize after I do call them)

I have a celiac son, and we went to Hershey Park two summers ago. As I recall, the g-f food pickings were between slim and none inside the park. I would urge you to research with Hershey closely OR have your daughter take food with her. Environments like these are tough on celiacs. (But the park is a blast and worth the inconvenience!)

This is Sue, now, I think I know what my daughter will be eating . Boardwalk Fries, Kettle Corn, and ice cream!

Thanks for all of your responses. I hope to call Hershey tomorrow. I will post their response.

Sue in MD
