Due to the number of requests for a source for ground almonds, I am posting
this to the list. I get my ground almonds (25lb box for $200 Canadian) from
Nutter's Bulk Foods. The box says Yosemite Farms California. You could
also check with bakeries in your area, or I have the following phone numbers
but as of yet have not phoned any (thought I'd just see how the first 25 lbs
went - so far we've been cooking 2 months and used about 1/3 of the box):
Hughson Nut Company, 1825 Verdugo, Hughson, California 95326
                     Phone 209-883-0403
Healthy Pleasures Health Food Store, 93 University Place,
New York City 10003 Phone 212-353-3663
There are also phone numbers for the almond growers of America and the
Almond Growers of Canada which I unfortunately cannot find right now.
Perhaps if someone else on the list has these they could send them in.

We replace the potato starch in BH's gf flour with ground almonds, and cut
the oil or butter in half. This has worked well in all the gf recipes tried
to date!
P.S. We had a gentleman over for supper last night from China, he ate 3
pieces of my wonderful bread!!! Didn't tell him it was gf!!

Good luck, if anyone finds a cheaper source, please e-mail me at
