There have been a lot of messages recently on this list blasting the FDA for
not doing its job. Or so we think. Tonight, I found out I've been needlessly
avoiding canned tuna because of a mysterious "vegetable broth" which I've been
warned may contain wheat, barley, or who knows what. Well,
the FDA rules are very clear on what "vegetable broth" is. See

In case you're still not convinced, Chicken of the Sea makes it clear that
their tuna is gluten-free. http://chickenofthesea.com/q7.html It is also
dolphin-safe http://chickenofthesea.com/dolphin3.html
