Hello Listers,

VERY LONG WINDED POSTING...to all that responded and all that do care-SORRY.

This definately feels like home...Everyone has been so helpful. It has
taken me days, hour upon hour of reading, printing, and highlighting, but I
think that educating myself will be half the battle-so thank you all so
much. I have recieved well over 150 responses to my recent posting
regarding my daughters health concerns, which has amazed me, to think that
there are this many caring individuals and families out there...that have
been there, done that. Sad really, when you think about it...where are the
doctors during all of this??!!

This will take me a while to sort out yes, and eventually I will be able to
provide everyone a SUMMARY of the wealth
of information that has been
provided to us, but this is my attempt at giving you all brief update for
the moment.

In reading everything and trying to get my head around all of this-I
realized that there may be many more symptoms-that I have overlooked...

-Coughing-mostly at night-thought to be asthma, but apparently it is really
difficult to diagnose prior to the age of five.
-We had an allergy tests done, only to find-NO food allergies.
Sensitivities to mold, tabacco and cats-(I was really grasping at anything
and everything imaginable at this point, to help improve my daughters
health, so we moved after battling municipal standards regarding the
building we lived in, thinking that this would help)WRONG!!!
(Oh yes, I live in Ontario, Canada-thanks for all of the wonderful info.
regarding Drs, but this will not be helpful).

-Irritability-I am guilty of not looking into further,
 in fear that my
daughter is displaying some signs of mental health issues. She upsets quite
easily, but it is almost like there is a little switch that turns her on
and off. She says and does the most insane things at times and when asked
about her behaviour afterward (being the articulate little thing that she
is) she will try to rationalize it, by saying I am sorry mommy, I know what
I did was wrong and I dont know why I did it, but my head feels a little
crazy sometimes)!!! I often wonder if she is experiencing childhood
depression and have had meeting, after meeting with the school, social
workers and public health (yes, public health-sorry).

We have also noticed over the past couple of years that she has tooth
enamel problems. Which we are also trying to figure out, assuming that it
is the lack of Diary in her diet...

The more I read the more I am beginning to believe that I am BANG ON
- We
should all go to Med school (LOL).

Looks like the naturopath was correct SUGAR (for the yeast), DAIRY ( for
the intestinal problems) WHEAT AND GLUTEN FREE DIET ( to cure)!!

I am starting to believe that it runs in the family-whatever this is. I am
estranged from my immediate family, however I do know that my mother
suffers alot of gastro difficulties. She was always to the Drs and probably
still is, and the response in the early stages was that it was
psychosomatic ( as she does have mental health issues) and I experience
bouts of dirrhea and bloating and exhaustion( that I mainly blamed on
stress). I guess I should have gone to the specialist a couple of years
back, but I was frightened by the scope procedure. Well, I guess we take
better care of our children that we do ourselves at times.

Anyhow, I will wrap this up- thank you all so much for everything...this
has
been a tremendous amount of support and insight.

P.s. We have, yet another pediatrician appointment tommorrow and believe
me, if I must, I will sit on the floor, hand and legs crossed, kicking and
screaming until I get the results I am after.

Cheers,

Melissa and Jeneah :-)
