Dear List, here's a problem for any health sleuth, or maybe symptoms will
strike a chord with someone...otherwise I get filed in the 'unsolved'
section!

I have a bit of an obscure question--that is, I have no idea what is really
causing the problem. My symptoms come and go: it begins with a throbbing in
the back of my head, only in the back, and moves to my ears making a
whoosing noise, of varying strength. The throbbing passes on and if I stand
up I get dizzy and finally things go black, I lean on a chair and then it
goes away. My lips also begin to tingle sometimes. Sometimes, before it comes
on, my stomach feels like it is pulsating a little. When I lie down this
also happens and I get very warm (I imagine I'm getting a hot flash like my
mother does!) and the blood starts whooshing and the back of my head hurts
with lip tingling but no black out. I feel better if I eat something. But
only temporarily. Lately I've stopped eating so many almonds (I was living
on them) and rice, and things have become better. (When I lie down my cold
hands and feet get very warm, during this 'hot flash' and they stay warm even
without a cover on even if the room is cold.)

Recently someone told me these symptoms may be from a mold allergy, which I
tested negative for. I tested negative for all food allergies. I tested
negative for blood sugar problems, as I thought it was hypoglycemia (I had
thought that sugar exacerbated it, but I've started eating honey again and it
seems to make no difference). I have only been gf for five months. Negative
for thyroid and everything else but I do have a problem with high phosphorous
ergo my bones are being broken down--no liver probs--I don't know if this has
much to do with things--I have an apt. next week with the doc but I'm doing
some pre-investigation, as other doctors have been stumped. My immune system
is also very impared, and these symptoms get worse if the weather is very
cold--or is it my imagination?! I am very confused. No one seems to know
what htis could be....maybe it is just temporary. Could it be Candida? Or a
mold problem or other undetected allergy? I eat basically a very
anti-candida diet right now.

*Please* respond if you have absolutely *any* thought or lead to this
perplexing case.

Much appreciation for even reading this far!!

Thanks,

Saskia in Seattle
