Hello list,

Had many replies both for and against caramel coloring being GF. One reply
was from Shelley Case, a dietitian, who has written a book called Gluten-Free
Diet: A Comprehensive Resource Guide. She said she did lots of research for
her book and found that corn is almost universally used as the starch source
for the caramel coloring because it produces a longer shelf life and much
better product.

Judy from Ca.
