I have a 4 year old who is autistic and has had multiple medical issues his
whole little life. I have recently had him tested for celiac disease. The
bloodwork came back negative. However, he did test positive for the gene.
His biopsy did not reveal damaged villi, yet it did reveal patches of
ulceritis, inflamed colon and acid reflux disease. His bowel movements
have always been loose, foul, violent affairs. His gastroenterologist says
he will see us again in 6 months and if my son's patterns are still the
same we can assume this is "normal" for him. This is not normal for
anyone!!! Can anyone tell me is it possible to have the disease with the
bloodwork being negative and a positive gene? Or is it possible that he
may have positive blood work come up in the future b/c he has the gene?

Any help/thoughts are greatly appreciated.

AnnMarie
