I need to jump in an calm a few people in regard to this subject.
Instead of waiting for a summary, here is the background.

Those with DH, dermatitis herpetiformis, often have a problem with
iodine. Since iodine is added to most salt for the benefit of the
general population, salt could be a problem for those with DH when they
eat mass prepared foods.

Pure salt is a GF food.
