How true, how true. I'm going to have the biopsy done on September 5, and my
gastroenterologist suspects that I have celiac disease, and most likely have
had it for the better part of the last 12 years. I only tested positive to
one of the antibodies - anti-gliadin, and he thinks I've got the selective
malabsorption. I've had consistently low B-12 for the past 6 years, and a
recent test showed that I was also low on Vitamin A absorption. I was
initially diagnosed in 1984 with IBS, but never really felt any better,
despite the meds that I was put on over the years, and a reduction of fiber
in my diet (I don't respond well to the high fiber diet that most folks with
IBS seem to, or so the doctors say).

All this time, and all this pain, and I was mis-diagnosed over 10 years ago?
I'm sure this happens more often than we realize.
