Watch out for First Watch in Hollywood, Florida. In spite of the gluten-free bread promoted on their website and menu, we were twice brought regular bread in one meal. The waitress and I had extensive discussions about both my son and I needing GF bread, so this was a terrible disappointment. The first instance was the toast, which was cold, too. I held off on eating it because it looked too much like the toast at nearby tables. The second instance after we'd returned the toast, and it was the bread for my son's sandwich. That was sent back too.
What was even more disconcerting is that after we put in our initial order, the waitress kept coming back to our table to ask if the toast could be made on the same equipment as regular bread and then she came to ask if we could eat off the grill, which involved cross-contamination.
After delivering first the toast, which we had to flag her down to return, then separately the sandwich, she admitted that she'd forgotten to put our gluten-free needs on the order. Incredible!
Wow. Has anyone had any positive experiences at a First Watch in South Florida? I don't think I'll be returning to this one.
A final word - Thanks to everyone to runs this list and contributes to it. It has been very helpful over the years.
Hilda
