is it possible to get a false negative on a celiac biopsy if you have cut
gluten product extensively out of your diet for many months and then
'gluten-loaded' for a few days before the biopsy? My biopst came back
negative but I still get headaches and gastro symptoms very badly if I
eat gluten products. Usualyy it takes about 8-24 hours and then I get
really sick so I have cut my diet down to meat and veggies and just
before the biopsy I ate bread for a few days. I have read that it takes
minute amounts of gluten to damage the intestine and I can't think that I
was cutting every bit out before the biopsy but I always feel better if I
stay away from gluten products. I would appreciate any i put to my
personal mail or to the net-and no, I don't really want to go back in for
another biopsy :( yuk. If it's not celiac could it be a wheat allergy
which I assume would have bad effects but not damage the gut.
Thanks, Lisa
