I am new to all of this and the learning curve is steep!

I am using Gluten Guard software to help me learn what ingredients to be reading for... but sometimes it is not accurate (thus, the importance of reading labels!!)

So, it pulls up disodium as a "red" item - that is not consistent with GF diet. This is in many mayonnaises (for example)... I searched the archives and did not find info on why this is an issue.

It also pulls up gum base as a red item, as in chewing gums. Why is that? So no chewing gum is feasible?

Thanks for your patience - Beth
