Dear list mates,

I have observed that many travel questions and good advice goes through
these channels. I have watched for any responses from people from
France and I haven't noticed any active list- respondents. So I am
appealing to you now.

My family has spent a vacation in Provence, near Vaison la Romaine for
the last few years. This year we are going in early September. This
will be my first trip as a celiac, and I want to be well prepared so
that this doesn't get in the way of my family's good times and good
eating. We will be cooking in our little kitchen, but do like to eat
out some of the time. I have the suggested restaurant message, written
in French, but unfortunately, I don't speak much French, so the
conversation discussing the limitations will be almost non-existent,
unless someone is around to translate.

If any of you are familiar with this area and know of celiac-friendly
places to dine, please let me know. I have read that restaurants in
France are easier to dine in than here in the US, and hope that turns
out to be true. I will be happy to share any information I come up
with.

Thanks in advance.
Anne in San Antonio
