I am closing in on my one year anniversary of my cd diagnosis. All is going
quite well. I've had 2 endoscopys. The villi are getting better. But I
have one ongoing nagging concern and and I am not getting the response I need
from my primary care physician. In addition I have GERD and I thought that
might be causing the pain in my back. The esophagus lies right against the
backbone. I have pain between my shoulder blades. It sometimes hurts or has
a burning or almost itching sensation. It does not hurt to the touch. It is
just there. They did an ultrasound a couple of months back, all the internal
organ are doing great! No problems there. I am concerned about osteoporosis.
The Dr. won't send me for a bone density check. He said there isn't much to
do since I am 50 and perimenopausal. I see my gi specialist tomorrow. I have
a pre cancerous polyp in the colon, so I get the full meal deal. But I'd like
to get to the bottom of the back irritation. Could it be a gluten reation?
Each of us is different and reaction vary greatly. I've never had the classic
ones. Any suggestions? At the minimum I'd like to get a back x-ray? Any
thought on that?
