In the past few weeks references to an FDA standard for
'Gluten Free' products have appeared on this and in other
celiac forums.

There is no FDA standard for declaring products to be
"Gluten Free".

Without research data to support the establishment of a
particular threshold, FDA has not set one.  Nor has it
adopted the Codex standards.

The lack of an accepted standard, has been a stumbling
block in the fight for improved product labeling.
