I am one of the listowners for the CELIAC e-mail list. I thought it
would be useful to briefly list some of the resources we have available
through the web. Before sending questions to the list, check these
resources first; it will help reduce the amount of traffic on the list
AND it will generally save you time if the question you ask has been
answered before.

There are two web pages associated with this list. All of the previous
posts made to the list, going back to November 1994, are available at:

   http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/celiac.html

The first link on that web page is "Search the Archives", an easy-to-use
page that will search previous posts for any word or phrase you choose.
You can click on "Help" on the bottom of the search page if you have any
questions about how to use it. This is the quickest way to find that
post you accidentally deleted.

The other web page contains all the reference files we've created for
list subscribers. If you haven't visited this page, you really should.
You'd be amazed at how much additional information you'll find there.
NOTE THAT THE LOCATION OF THIS PAGE CHANGED ON APRIL 1st. It is now
located at:

   http://www.enabling.org/ia/celiac/

What can you find there? How about:

-- Just click on "Local Contacts (Support Groups)" and you will find
listings of support groups and individual contacts all around the
world. (Did you know there are 170 groups and 236 individual
contacts in the USA and Canada alone?) Many of these listings
include e-mail addresses. What better way to find out about an
area that you plan to visit?

-- Click on "Basic Information and Reference Files" to read up on such
     topics as:
        Familial Incidence of Celiac Disease
        Diagnostics Tests for Celiac Disease
        Grain Toxicity
Should I obtain an official diagnosis?
        Maximum Allowable Amount of Gluten
HLA Gene Typing and Celiac Disease
        Frequently Asked Questions (the "FAQ")
     ...and many other topics.

-- So what do the experts think? Click on "Posts from our Experts"
to read all the previous posts made to the list by recognized
     celiac experts.

-- Click on "Recipes" to find all the previous recipes that have been
posted to the list, indexed by category (desserts, appetizers,
     etc.)

-- To find other celiac-related web sites, click on "Internet Sites
     with Celiac Information".

I could go on and on, but this gives you an idea of the wealth of
information available to you. Just point your web browser to the two
web sites listed above and start browsing. Better yet, add those two
web sites to your browser's bookmark list, so you can easily find them
again.
