Dear List Mates:
Thank you one & all for your suggestions & comments. 6 people recommended metamucil, 5 suggested fiber/magnesium, or digestive enzymes, including Phillips fiber caplets. Citracal was also recommended. Several people said prunes or prune juice were the best anecdote for them, including a "Fruit Soup" recipe, & one for "Anti-Constipation fruit Paste". One person from South Africa suggested 1 tbsp. of food grade liquid parafin, & yet, another person from Australia suggested a cup of boiling water to be sipped like hot tea or coffee; also mix a tsp. of "powder slippery elm" in some cold water & drink. Someone else gets relief from a prescribed medication called "Kristalose". Another suggestion that works for them was cranberry & raspberry juice, & lots of salads. The majority of people along with these suggestions also mentioned that fruits, veggies, & plenty of water.........& of course - vitamins.
I, once again, want to thank each & every one who replied. It's so much appreciated, & nice to know we "Celiacs" have such support for & from each other.
One little footnote: For the last 3 mornings, I have had a little glass of prune juice, & it seems to be working, better, at least than before.
Regards to all.
Donna/TX
