I have been mostly gluten free since 1984, more strictly gluten free since
1986. I am also very Lactose intolerant and intolerant of SOY ( all lentils,
peas, peanuts, or products containing GALACTOSE ) and of APPLES ( and PEARS
). This has not healed even though antibody and other tests done in 1993
showed no apparent GLUTEN exposure or other GI tract disease. No polyps,
pancreatic damage, tumors, diverticulitis, diverticulosis, punctures, ulcers,
bleeding were found. Absorbtion tests of sugar series show very poor
absorbtion of hexase and xylase.

I sometimes get a kind of smell of SCOTCH TAPE immediately upon inadvertent
GLUTEN exposure, but the GI tract response ( gurgles, fullness, gas, etc. )
takes about 15 minutes.

The diarrhea starts after about 45 minutes and only lasts no more than 36
hours, with GLUTEN ingestion.

With exposure to other bowel irritants, there is diarrhea sometimes, after
about 6-12 hours, and there is not the same sewer smell to it.

I had been a daily consumer of Cannabis until 1986 and it affects GI
motility, I have found no research on whether there is a very long term
effect after stopping THC.

I suspect the speed of response to GLUTEN has to do with GI tract motility,
fullness, and irritability, rather than villi damage.
