Many thanks to the dozen plus people who responded to my question of
absorption/safety of Fosamax. It is clearly a mixed picture--possible
severe side-effects, including jaw deterioration, inability to have tooth
implants. Some reported success--moving from osteoporosis to osteopenia.
It does seem that once you have been gluten-free for two years, absorption
should not be a problem. Other suggestions were meacalcin and strontium.
There are no easy answers.
